We managed to catch up with the Mapura pack yesterday. Misheck was out tracking them on his motorbike and managed to get some decent views of them in the riverbed.
He confirmed there are still 12 dogs, so still 6 adults and 6 pups which is good.
I went out to download the collar in the afternoon, but was not so lucky with visuals. This was about as good as I got! The vegetation is just so thick at the moment, it’s crazy. (Can you spot the ears in the photo below?!)
We did however get the collar downloaded successfully which was good, and Misheck’s sighting confirmed there are no injured or snared dogs.
